WalkDeeside Ltd was established in 2002 and is a small, friendly, family-run business, owned and managed by Alan and Moira Melrose.  We offer visitors and clients a quality service and personal attention.

Over the last five years, WalkDeeside Ltd has become an expanding and innovative outdoor activities and walking holiday company with a regular customer base, our own bespoke office and equipment premises, quality transport with a strong reputation.  We provide walking holidays, international expeditions, management of community development projects, corporate activities and environmental activities for young people in attractive parts of Scotland and the wider world, some of which are remote.

The original concept of offering clients and local communities a quality service built on sound environmental concerns and credentials have proven visionary in the current and likely future Scottish tourism and British social climate.

WalkDeeside are a company committed to innovation and quality and capitalising on new business opportunities.  

The business was established with the vision and foresight to see that an outdoor activities and walking holiday company offering visitors a quality service particularly built on sound environmental issues was the future way to grow such a business and make a real contribution to Scotland and Royal Deeside. A number of national initiatives have since emphasised the opportunities to employ this vision to advantage.

The business is based on maximising:

·    Interest in wildlife watching
·    Good visitor experience by providing quality outdoor activities
·    Visitors who desire a quality and responsible outdoor experience whilst on holiday  
·    Visitors who take into account environmental concerns when booking holiday activities.
·    Awareness of the Green Tourism Business Scheme

Our staff are involved with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, VisitScotland, Scottish Enterprise  and others to accurately place the business vision.  WalkDeeside Ltd seeks to nurture the increasing awareness of green tourism and to maximise the marketing opportunities for environmental and wildlife tourism that are available.  We use  targeted advertising in publications such as Northern Exposure, Cairngorms i, Scottish Hosteller, VisitScotland Wildlife brochures and participates in the Cairngorms and Wild Scotland brands and VisitScotland marketing and QA initiatives. WalkDeeside Ltd works collaboratively with other outdoor activity, equipment and service providers and is also focused on involvement in local economic activity including wider Aberdeenshire.
