"My first Munro was Ben Macdui. I tackled it with a group of three friends, led by Alan from WalkDeeside. From the outset it was clear that getting us to the summit was only one of Alan’s objectives. His passion for the Cairngorms, and all of the Islands and Highlands, shines through. To whatever extent desired, he will explain the history and the nature of the landscape, point out the beautiful birds and plants that others might miss, and provide encouragement and humour  throughout the day. The stash of shortbread and the bottle of single malt, carefully hidden amongst lots of spare kit in the minibus, was a fine treat when we returned at the end of the day." A. D. London

The splender of the Cairngorm Munros

Cairngorm Munros

Experience the magnitude of the Cairngorms with their vast arctic-like plateaux and numerous corries. The immense distances, difficult navigation and unpredictable weather challenge Munro baggers in this area. Let WalkDeeside guide you amongst these distant Munros in a fulfilling two-day mountain adventure.

You may either meet us at the comfortable hostel in Ballater/Braemar or we will pick you up from Aberdeen, or at pick-up points en route, in WalkDeeside’s luxury minibus. WalkDeeside will provide a leisurely evening meal in the hostel on Friday night, followed by a briefing on the two mountain days to follow.

After breakfast ingredients will be available for you to make up your own lunch before departing to climb our first Munro. The choice of hills for Saturday and Sunday include The Devil’s Point, Cairn Toul, Beinn Bhrotain, Ben Macdui, Beinn Mheadhoin and many more. Our objectives will be tailored to your ambitions. Dinner will again be served in the hostel.

After breakfast on Sunday we will set off for our second day’s walking to complete a fulfilling two-day mountain itinerary.
