OBJECTIVES We will do this by enabling you ..

To understand the basic principles of map reading; Grid Reference, Scale and Classification.

To understand and work effectively a standard compass by being able to take a bearing and use the functions on a compass housing: roamer, scale, orientation and grid lines.

To practice effectively these map and compass skills on a mountain environment.

To be aware of further courses and training to suit individual needs.
