The two most popular long distance routes are the West Highland way and the Speyside Way, both of which are outlined here in more detail.

 

THE SPEYSIDE WAY - Grades of WalkGrades of WalkGrades of Walk

  

 

  

The new Speyside Way is an excellent 5 day walk
from Buckie, on the Moray Coast to Aviemore in the
heart of the Cairngorms. This journey takes you through
the Spey Valley and Abernethy Forest, with its rich
cultural history and whisky distilleries (where I can
almost always be persuaded to stop off to visit and allow you to get me a dram!). Not to forget the majesty of the Osprey and Capercaillie at Loch Garten en route.


 

What’s included:

  • 4 nights D/B/B at various Hotels en route - Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs
  • 5 days with your walking leader - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri
  • 4 days packed lunch - Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri
  • Comfortable transport to and from hotel to your start/finishing points on   Speyside Way. Your main luggage will be transported to each hotel for your evening arrival

Exploring ancient military roads, discovering drovers
routes & illicit whisky stills and above all enjoying some
highland hospitality will ensure this stress free walking

start in Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow and travel
up past the magnificent Loch Lomond through some of

the dramatic West Coast scenery around Crainlarich and Glencoe before reaching your final destination in the idyllic Fort William for a well earned rest and dram!
